| I am the Senior Assistant Registrar at Bangor
responsible for Admissions and Student Records. We hosted SROC
at Bangor in 1999 and I've been committed to supporting the conference
ever since. Currently, my role on the organising committee is
that of 'Corporate Liaison'. This means that I try to ensure that
we obtain as much support and sponsorship for the conference as
possible from suppliers of student records and related systems.
It's my job to see that the sessions they give are relevant and
that the products they offer are contemporary and of interest
to all our delegates. If you know of any potential exhibitors
that might be of national interest, then please e-mail me and
let me know, I'm more than willing to follow up any leads. Council

| I am the Director of Information and Planning at Northampton
with responsibility for the student record system (including the
development and implementation of a new system), all data returns,
reporting and maintenance of corporate information, trend analysis
and institutional research. Previously for over 15 years I was

experienced university life and demands from both sides of the
great divide.

| My background originally was is in educational
technology but I have been working with student record systems
since 1988. Currently, my role is to lead on Business Intelligence
and Management Information resource development; oversee data
quality on corporate information systems and ensure that systems
are configured and utilised to allow data extraction for internal
and external returns.
I have identified where new corporate information resources are
required and in many cases, specified and implemented those developments.
This includes admissions data archives, teaching quality/student
progression reporting and the dissemination of competitor data.
It is my belief that all staff should be empowered to use information,
so that they can undertake their roles effectively and to the
benefit of the organisation. I have written and presented at conferences
and in other specialists groups, on the culture changes needed
to be proactive in using information.
