Conference announcement… #SROC24

It’s my great pleasure that, in my first blog as the new SROC Committee Chair, I get to announce that we will be holding SROC 2024 at the University of Leeds!

We’re in the early stages of planning, but you can expect our usual varied schedule on the fantastic Leeds campus. We’re lining up some great evening entertainment, including a stunning venue for the conference dinner, and we’ll have a range of suppliers at our exhibition.

So, make sure you get the dates in your diary: Wednesday 3 – Friday 5 April 2024.

Of course, the success of the conference relies on the amazing contributions from the sector in providing breakouts. With that in mind, we’d love to hear from you if you have something you can share. You can submit your proposal by the deadline of Friday 10 November 2023 using the online form.

If you’re interested in getting even more involved with SROC, we are actually looking for new Committee members. In particular, we want to make sure we have diversity of voice within our membership so are particularly seeking people with diverse backgrounds, levels of experience and work responsibilities. We’ll soon be sending out some more information to our SROC mailing list about expressing an interest, but please drop a message to the Committee in the meantime if you’d like to get involved.

Finally, we’ve had a few changes in Committee roles recently and two of our longest-serving members, Marian Hilditch and Mark Jones, have moved on to new things. I’d like to thank both for their incredible contributions to the Committee, SROC conferences over the years and the sector more broadly, and I wish them all the best. We hope to see you both at a conference before long.
